FSSAI sets 180 days timeline for standards on printing inks on food packages

The Food Safety and Standards Authority Of India (FSSAI) has issued a direction regarding timeline for compliance of Sub-Regulation 3(9) of FSS (Packaging) Regulations, 2018, relating to ‘printing inks’ for use on food packages.

According to an official with the FSSAI, in its regulations for packaging, refers to BIS with respect to ink and packaging materials. And the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) revises these standards as per the study and technological updates.
