IIT Delhi, University of Queensland starts application for joint PhD programme for January 2025 | Education News

The Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D) and the Australia’s University of Queensland have jointly started the application process for admission to PhD programmes. The initiative is taken under the UQ-IIT Delhi Research Academy (UQIDAR) at IIT Delhi.

The application process for admission to the joint PhD programme in January 2025 has begun. UQIDAR has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from candidates with a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, healthcare, humanities, or social sciences background. The Expression of Interest for the UQ-IITD Joint PhD programme is open until October 3.

The Academy supports students with fellowships, research travel grants, and relocation. The students will have access to both institutions’ academic facilities and resources. For more information on the PhD admission, students can visit: uqiitd.org/apply/.

Under the programme, students will work and get time in both institutions, apart from receiving a jointly awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree upon successful completion of the programme. The duration of the programme will be four years maximum.

Schedule for round 2

The Academy accepts applications twice a year with application round 1 opens around February for July intake commencement of the same year, while the application for round 2 opens in September for January intake commencement of the following year.
