IPL Auction 2025: After allowing their former captain KL Rahul to join the Delhi Capitals (DC), the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made one of the biggest moves in auction history by spending an IPL record of Rs 27 crore to acquire former DC captain Rishabh Pant. Despite making Pant the most expensive player in league history, LSG continued to build their roster, adding Abdul Samad, Aryan Juyal, David Miller, Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, and Avesh Khan.
The LSG franchise opted to retain five players before the auction in Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan. The LSG team spent a combined ₹51 crore to retain these five players. Despite their acquisitions, LSG will be left to rely on a chunk of Indian pacers and lay out a batting order without a lot of heavyweight top-order players.
