WATCH | Sudharsan took pressure off Gill, says GT assistant coach after playoffs qualification

Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach Aashish Kapoor praised the team’s openers, particularly Sai Sudharsan, for their crucial role in the 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals. Sudharsan’s brilliant century (108 not out) and Shubman Gill’s explosive 93 not out helped GT chase down 200 with ease.

Kapoor highlighted Sudharsan’s importance in taking the pressure off Gill, saying, “Even though he (Gill) was not able to time the ball initially, Sai was playing beautifully, and that took the pressure off him, so he got extra time to get in, and then he played some good shots.”

Kapoor also praised Gill’s growth, saying, “He uses his brain for himself and 10 other people, which is one quality needed to be a captain.”

Kapoor expressed his confidence in Gill’s abilities, stating, “He is a good thinker of his batting as well… He tried hard last year as well as a captain, and you can see the result this time.”

The win not only sealed GT’s playoff berth but also confirmed Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings’ spots in the next round.
