“Firstly, less pollutants, I think it’s zero pollution so you are contributing to the environment and this feeling of contribution towards the environment has picked up a lot amongst the youth. Youths are very much keen towards EV’s. Secondly, No noise Pollution, people these days prefer EV and this is the Western trend coming up. So, Noise pollution is definitely being reduced a lot and also the overall spent on running reduces a lot.”, said Amit Das, Founder of ElectricOne in an exclusive interview with Global standard news.

Journey Towards The Startup

“Electric one is more like a passion. I was in Germany and I have been very fascinated by the way the Germans have built the ecosystem of Electric Mobility. They held awareness camps for consumers, the ways their charging system has evolved that boosts the option of EV and that’s what motivated me to come back to India and start this venture with my other co-founders.”, said Amit Das, Founder of ElectricOne in an exclusive interview with Startup Story.

They started thinking of manufacturing something but eventually they got into retail, about which Mr. Amit is very fortunate. He thinks that retail is a very big challenge in manufacturing in India as of now. That is why as of now, ElectricOne takes electric mobility to remote places of India, giving opportunities to young Entrepreneurs to make their livelihood in small towns, giving a user a better experience and more contributory vehicle to the environment.

Pandemic Impact On EV

Covid has actually increased the adoption of EV. People nowadays are looking forward to personal mobility over public mobility in order to avoid traffic and to be safe. Personal mobility has caught up in the past two years and this will again increase a lot because he feels that people are used to driving scooters. In cities people go through public mediums and due to covid they have to go back to their natural driving, so Amit thinks that scooters are for sure going to increase on the roads.

Uniqueness In The Market

ROI (Return on investment) for any investor, be it partner, investor investing in the electric company is very important. In India, traditional businesses are built on property. In the last 10 years, a humongous amount of funding has been seen coming up in the picture, it’s more about scale, revenues, pollution, etc.

“This journey will get more mature with the startups, and you can promote players coming up in the future to evolve into a profitable mode. By profitability I mean, that anybody who is investing has to be profitable at the end of the day”, said Amit Das, Founder of ElectricOne in an exclusive interview with Startup Story.

As they are into multi brands, the idea of it is more about ROI and people in India have a curiosity index which will be absorbed by different showrooms with multiple forums of electric scooters. For them, it is more about bringing confidence in the market, not only for a dealer but also for the companies that their products are well penetrated in the market. They are selling in places where they have not gone so far and for a consumer, ElectricOne brings up a big platform that if they go there they will have at least some insight of what they want. There are almost all the prominent brands as of now and more coming up too.

Future Of EV

In the next few years, EV batteries will mostly be produced in India. Overall cost of the batteries should be atleast 20 to 25 percent cheap. The vehicle cost will be cheaper due to the reduction in the cost of batteries, which will further be better for a consumer. So cell manufacturing is going to be a major transformation for India as people are working towards that. It’s a very healthy sign for EV. Battery span is basically proportional to the number of times the battery can be charged. As the battery span increases the cost of the consumer reduces to.
