AICC general secretary Selja Kumari demands crackdown on fake agents

With a large number of youth from Haryana being deported by the United States recently, All India Congress Committee general secretary Kumari Selja has urged the government to launch a large-scale crackdown on fake travel agents.

In a press statement, Ms. Selja said the government should first investigate how many youth have travelled illegally to different countries and then take responsibility for bringing them back with dignity and ensuring their proper rehabilitation.

Questioning the government’s intent, she said that the Foreign Cooperation Department was set up in Haryana in 2019 and the government had claimed that it would assist youth travelling abroad, yet people from Haryana were falling prey to fake travel agents.
