Apple may launch iPhone SE 4 next week: Here’s what to expect | Technology News
The much anticipated iPhone SE 4 may be coming “as early as next week,” according to a new report by Bloomberg. The upcoming phone, which the rumour mill has been talking about for a couple of years now, is said to bring in some much-needed upgrades to Apple’s most affordable smartphone.
Citing people familiar with the matter, known Apple analyst Mark Gurman suggested that Apple might announce the iPhone SE 4 “as early as next week” and that it will hit stores a week later. He also said that Apple is unlikely to hold a launch event for the device and instead will reveal it on the website.
Gurman also said that “there are already telltale signs that the new phone is coming”, claiming that the inventory of the iPhone SE 3 has already dried up in many parts of the United States of America, which usually happens when Apple is about to launch a new device.
Last month, known tipster Majin Bu shared a video on X suggesting that the iPhone SE 4 will still be limited to a single camera and miss out on the iconic Dynamic Island. However, to comply with the new EU regulation, the phone may sport a USB-C port.
Codenamed V59, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to sport the A18 chip, which, if true, might mean that the device will support Apple Intelligence. Rumour also has it that it will be the first Apple device with an in-house developed cellular modem, ditch the home button in favour of Face ID and bump up the screen size.
The report also says that the iPhone SE 4 will be launched alongside the PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds on February 11. As it turns out, Apple might also launch a new MacBook Air with an M4 chip and a new low-end iPad alongside an updated iPad Air in the first half of the year.
