The football superstar from Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo created history again, he became the first man in the sport to score 900 career goals. He achieved this milestone by scoring the 131st goal for his nation Portugal in the UEFS Nations League encounter against Croatia. Portugal won this match by 2—1.

Ronaldo put his side 2—0 at the Estadio da Luz. In this 34th-minute match, he got on the end of a NUno Mandes cross with a tap-in volley from a very close range. Later, he fell on the ground looking emotional after reaching another significant milestone in his career. Ronaldo has not netted 131 international goals, 450 for Real Madrid, 145 for Manchester United, 101 for Juventus and 68 for his present include AI Nassar and five for his first club Sporting Lisbon.

As soon as Ronaldo achieved this milestone, he put on his head and dropped to his knees during the celebration. He said, “It means a lot. I was aiming to achieve this goal for a long time. I knew it could be possible because I kept on playing. It may be like any other milestones for others, but only I knew and the people around me, how difficult it is to work every day, to be physically and psychologically fit, to score 900 goals.”

The five-time Ballon DOr winner is 58 goals ahead of his near competitor, Lionel Messi from Argentina. He is in the second position in the all-time scorers list. He has bagged 859 career goals. Ronaldo was also the first footballer to cross the 800 milestone, ahead of Messi, in 2021 while playing for Manchester United in his second stint with the club.

Last Thursday, Ronaldo reached his 131st goals in a total of 209 matches and led the charts in global goals. In this list also, Messi holds the second position ahead of Ali Daei from Iran, both have 109 currently.

Meanwhile, Spain was held at Serbia after winning the UEFA Eruo 2024 and San Marinoa won a competitive match first time after beating Liechtenstein.

The former Real Madrid teammates, Ronaldo and Modric are about to end their career but they are still doing great with their national team.
