As the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 draw closer, the political landscape of the national capital is heating up with major parties gearing up for a fierce contest. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Indian National Congress (INC) are fielding prominent candidates to stake their claim in this high-stakes battle.

With key contenders from the AAP, the BJP and the Congress in the race, each party is rallying behind its strongest candidates. These individuals will play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025. From seasoned leaders to emerging faces, these candidates are set to make a significant impact as they vie for a seat in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Here’s a closer look at the 10 key candidates from each party leading the charge in this high-stakes race.

Patel Nagar and Kasturba Nagar have the lowest, with just five candidates each, followed by Tilak Nagar, Karol Bagh, Gandhi Nagar, Greater Kailash, Mangol Puri, Tri Nagar with six candidates each, as per the Election Commission of lndia. Key contenders for Greater Kailash seat include the AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj, the BJP’s Shikha Rai and the Congress’ Garvit Singhvi. Key contenders for Kasturba Nagar seat include the AAP’s Ramesh Pahalwan, the BJP’s Neeraj Basoya and the Congress’ Abhishek Dutt.

Ahead of the 2025 Assembly election in Delhi, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday (January 6, 2025) released the final electoral roll. The national capital has 1,55,24,858 voters. The number increased by 1.09% since the publication of the October 29, 2024, draft of electors. Among the total electors, 83,49,645 are male, 71,73,952 are female and 1,261 are third gender.

Notably, 70 Assembly seats in Delhi will go to the polls in a single phase on February 5, 2025 and the votes will be counted on February 8, 2025. A total of 699 candidates will contest polls on 70 Delhi Assembly seats in the election, the Election Commission said. According to the poll body, the deadline for submitting the nomination papers was January 17, 2025 while the scrutiny was done on January 18 and the last date of withdrawal was January 20.
