Eminem’s Mother Debbie Nelson Passes Away at 69

Iconic rapper Marshall Bruce Mathers II aka Eminem’s mother Debbie Nelson has passed away. She was suffering from lung cancer and reportedly breathed her last at St. Joseph in Missouri. She was 69 at the time of her passing.

The news of Eminem’s mother Debbie Nelson’s passing was confirmed by the rapper’s representative. It was reported that she was terminally ill a few months ago. As per Touch Magazine, she spent her final months between the cancer centre and staying with her family members.

For the unversed, Debbie Nelson was an imminent author. Back in 2008, she published a memoir titled My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem. In her memoir, she talked about her upbringing, growing up in a dysfunctional family and marrying Marshal Bruce Matheers Jr at the age of 16. She gave birth to her son two years later.

Nelson and Eminem had a rocky mother-son relationship. In his song Cleanin’ Out My Closet, he spoke of parental neglect and drug use. However, the two got through the rough patch and in 2022, Nelson opened up about being proud of her son.
