Google Gemini’s Deep Research Feature Now Live in 9 Indian Languages

Google has expanded its Gemini Deep Research feature to include support for nine Indian languages – Bengali, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu – for Gemini Advanced users. This expansion is part of a broader rollout that now covers over 45 languages in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Deep Research, a new agentic feature within Gemini Advanced, is designed to simplify the exploration of complex topics by generating comprehensive, easy-to-read reports. These reports can be exported directly into Google Docs, providing users with a structured summary complete with links to original sources. This allows for deeper exploration into topics by connecting users to relevant websites, businesses, or organizations they might not have encountered otherwise.

The feature aims to alleviate the time-consuming nature of online research by automatically analyzing data from across the internet. It operates by creating a multi-step research plan that users can review or modify before execution. Once approved, Gemini uses AI to delve into the subject, refining its search based on the information gathered in a manner similar to human browsing habits, thus saving hours of manual work.

Google highlights Deep Research as a significant step towards developing the world’s most helpful personal AI assistant, showcasing enhanced capabilities in handling complex tasks. For example, it can aid graduate students in understanding trends like autonomous vehicle sensor technologies or help entrepreneurs with competitor analysis for business planning.

Currently available in English on desktop and mobile web for Gemini Advanced subscribers, Deep Research is set to be introduced to the mobile app in early 2025. Users can access this feature by selecting “Gemini 1.5 Pro with Deep Research” from the model drop-down menu and submitting their research query.

This rollout marks a notable advancement in making AI research assistance more accessible and efficient, aligning with Google’s vision to enhance agentic capabilities within its products.
