Ikea, a multinational corporation based in Sweden, has agreed to a huge transaction of Rs 835 crore, which Infosys has secured.
Infosys Signs Deal With Ikea
Ikea and Infosys have inked a five-year contract, according to a report by the Economic Times. Ikea will be provided with enterprise service management through the use of IT services management and ServiceNow.
Infosys will also supply a service desk for Ikea’s enormous workforce of 260,000 devices and 170,000 people. There will be 19 languages available for the services.
The article further states that as part of the agreement, about 350 Ikea employees from nations including China, France, Germany, India, Poland, Sweden, and the United States will be transferred to Infosys.
Despite having its headquarters in India, Infosys serves customers worldwide, with operations in more than 56 countries at this time.
Infosys was recently fined approximately Rs 2.6 lakh for failing to pay sales tax for the month of April in 2024. A fine was also recently imposed on Infosys for allegedly failing to pay the modified business tax on time.
84% Infosys Employees Opted For Hybrid Work
In FY24, 84% of Infosys employees utilized remote working options, up from 75% in FY23. This figure peaked at 97% in fiscal 2022 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Infosys has set a target of delivering 33% of its work by leveraging flexible/remote work options by 2030, showcasing its long-term commitment to a hybrid work model.
The company has strategically expanded its operations to tier-2 and tier-3 cities, opening new offices in Visakhapatnam and Coimbatore, to cater to employees’ preference for remote work from their base locations.
Infosys has set up smaller offices within tier-1 cities, such as the North Gate office in Bengaluru, to reduce the travel burden on employees and tap into local talent pools.
The company’s hybrid work model offers the flexibility of working from home and the office, prioritizing employee comfort and well-being. This approach contrasts with other IT firms, like TCS, that have been enforcing stricter return-to-office policies, highlighting Infosys’ focus on employee experience.
