Janhvi Kapoor says she ‘felt handicapped, paralysed’ during recent hospitalisation: ‘Was in no condition to eat, speak or walk’ | Bollywood News

Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor was recently hospitalised due to severe food poisoning. A family source confirmed the news to indianexpress.com, stating that Janhvi was admitted to South Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital on Thursday. Recently Zoom reported that the Dhadak actor has been discharged from the hospital, even as her  father and producer Boney Kapoor confirmed to the outlet that “she is much better now.”

Janhvi, who is gearing up for the release of Ulajh, recently spoke about her hospitalisation after experiencing a severe digestive immunity disorder. Reflecting on the ordeal, Jhanvi  shared her experience and the importance of prioritising well-being over work commitments. In an interview with Times Now, she revealed that she was hospitalised for the first time and the experience left her completely “exhausted” as her immunity had hit rock bottom. She shared that even before the promotions for Mr & Mrs Mahi started, she had been working non-stop and hadn’t “really had a break”. She had constantly been travelling, shot three song, and rehearsed for a fourth number, all within a period of one month, revealing that her immunity had taken a “beating.”

A source close to Janhvi told Indianexpress.com that the actor had already returned to Mumbai from Chennai on Tuesday. As she was feeling unwell on Wednesday, the actor opted to stay at home and rescheduled all her appointments. However, her condition deteriorated on Thursday, which followed her hospitalisation. The Gunjan Saxena actor revealed with an weak immunity, she traveled to Chennai for an event and she suspected that she might have eaten something contaminated at the airport. Initially, she thought it was a simple stomach bug, but test results revealed abnormal blood parameters. She says, once her stomach was better, she experienced severe body ache, weakness, chills and “all sorts of things.”

Recalling the experience, “scary” which forced her to hit the pause button, the 27-year-old said tests showed her liver enzymes were through the roof, which understandably alarmed the doctors. For three to four days, I was confined to the hospital while they ran tests to figure out “what was wrong.” However, during her hospitalisation, she felt like being on “hamster wheel” and all she cared about was “looking fit enough” for the song and meeting deadlines.

She also reminisced about feeling sick just hours before taking flight to Hyderabad, being completely incapacitated. She said she felt “handicapped” and “paralysed” as she couldn’t even go to the bathroom on her own. For Janhvi, it was a wake-up call as her body was screaming for rest which she finally got it in the hospital. She said she wasn’t in the condition to “speak” or “walk” or “even eat.”

Festive offer

The actor says the experience and the ordeal has taught her that while career and appearance are important, her health is paramount, stating that one needs to “respect their body,” adding that career, work and vanity are “fleeting” and can all “go away.” She stressed that it’s essential to “listen to your body”.

Janvhi, who resumed work on July 23, has a newfound respect for my well-being. While she still feels “quite weak,” she is ready to give her all to her work commitments.

The actor was recently spotted partaking in the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, held over three-days in Mumbai. She was accompanied by her beau Shikhar Pahariya.
