MI vs GT, IPL 2025: Pandya fined for slow over-rate; Nehra penalised for breaching Code of Conduct

Mumbai Indians’ captain Hardik Pandya has been fined INR 24 lakh for slow over-rate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Gujarat Titans on May 6.

It was the second offence for Mumbai this season, under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences.

“The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player and the concussion substitute, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,” the IPL said in a statement.

The Titans won the rain-affected match by three wickets, climbing to the top of the standings and ending MI’s six-match winning streak.

Meanwhile, Titans’ head coach Ashish Nehra was fined 25 per cent of his match fees and he also accumulated one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.

“He admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 – which pertains to the conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game – and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction,” the league said.
