Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Yashasvi Jaiswal scores 26 runs in second innings against J&K

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 26 runs off 51 balls during Mumbai’s second innings against Jammu and Kashmir in a Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match at the BKC Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.

The 23-year-old forged a 54-run first-wicket partnership alongside India Test captain Rohit Sharma before the latter was sent back for 28.

He was removed by Yudhvir Singh – who also took Rohit’s wicket – as the youngster holed out to Yawer Hassan.

Jaiswal, from the very first ball in the innings, attempted to step out of his crease and found the boundary. He did so four times during his knock.

This innings was certainly an improvement from his 8-ball 4 which he made on Thursday.

Mumbai was skittled out for 120 in the first innings, after which J&K posted a total of 206, thereby taking a lead of 86 runs. After Rohit and Jaiswal departed, Shreyas Iyer and skipper Ajinkya Rahane went out in the middle.
