This isn’t the first time Scooby-Doo has gone live-action. The 2002 Scooby-Doo movie with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar was a box office hit, followed by Monsters Unleashed in 2004. However, Scoob! Holiday Haunt was axed in a cost-cutting move, and Velma, starring Mindy Kaling in lead role, was cancelled after two seasons. But with Netflix’s success in adapting classics like One Piece and Avatar: The Last Airbender, fans are hopeful that this new take will do justice to the iconic Scooby.
