Shekhar Kapur, Ajith Kumar & more honoured with Padma Bhushan

The Padma Awards 2025 were announced recently and several prominent names from the film fraternity received a nod. Shekhar Kapur, Ajith Kumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shobana Chandrakumar, Pankaj Udhas (Posthumous) and Anant Nag were conferred with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award.

Mamata Shankar, Arijit Singh, Ricky Kej, Barry John and veteran Marathi actor Ashok Saraf were bestowed with Padma Shri. On the other hand, M T Vasudevan Nair and Sharda Sinha have been conferred with the Padma Vibhushan posthumously.

After the announcement, Shekhar Kapur took to social media to thank his fans. His post read, “What an honour! This year, 139 Padma Awards were given to people for their contribution in several fields, such as Art, Literature, Medicine, Social Work and Science among others. These include 7 Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 124 Padma Shri Awards.
