Sheldon Jackson announces retirement from white-ball cricket

Saurashtra’s seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Sheldon Jackson has announced his retirement from white-ball cricket.

Having featured in 86 List A matches, Jackson scored 2792 runs with nine centuries and 14 fifties and played a pivotal role in Saurashtra’s triumphant victory in Vijay Hazare Trophy in the 2022-23 season.

In T20s, he scored 1812 runs from 84 matches with one century and eleven fifties.

According to a statement issued by the Saurashtra Cricket Association, president Jaydev Shah said: “His dedication, hard work and exceptional performances over the years have made him a key player for Saurashtra. His commitment and passion for cricket in each format have been a true testament to the spirit of the game. As he bid farewell to the white-ball formats, his contributions shall continue to echo and keep inspiring countless budding cricketers.”

Jackson, however, will continue to be available for red-ball cricket.
