Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25: Punjab smashes 424 against Saurashtra, records joint fifth-highest total in VHT

Punjab became the ninth team to score 400 runs or more in an innings in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during its match against Saurashtra in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

The side led by Abhishek Sharma ended its innings at 424 for five — the joint fifth-highest total in the Indian List A competition along with Madhya Pradesh which got the same total against Nagaland in 2022.

During the innings, Abhishek and Prabhsimran Singh struck centuries and registered the joint second-highest partnership for the first wicket as they added 298 runs.

Tamil Nadu holds the record for the highest total in the competition with its 506 for two against Arunachal Pradesh in 2022. It is the only team to score 500 in an innings.
