Zero Waiting Time At Toll Plazas After May 1: Satellite Based Toll Will Start – Trak.in

In a bold move to modernize India’s transport infrastructure, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced on April 14 that a satellite-based toll system will be launched within the next 15 days.

This revolutionary system will:
- Use GPS and satellite imaging to track vehicle movement
- Automatically deduct tolls from the bank account linked to the vehicle
- Eliminate the need to stop at toll plazas
Key Benefits
✅ Zero Queues at toll booths
✅ Reduced travel time on national highways
✅ Lower fuel consumption due to uninterrupted travel
✅ Seamless user experience using automated digital tracking
Gadkari’s Vision
“Vehicles will be tracked through satellite and toll will be deducted directly from the bank account linked with the vehicle,” said Gadkari.
The system is part of a larger effort to:
- Digitize highway tolling
- Enhance transparency
- Improve logistics efficiency across the country
What’s Next?
🚧 The Ministry will begin nationwide implementation over the coming months, post the initial rollout.
🛣️ If successful, this could replace FASTag-based tolling and make India one of the first countries in the world to adopt a fully satellite-driven toll collection model.
